• 30.10.2014 – Dirk Kroese gave a Keynote Address at the International Conference on Data Science and Advanced Analytics (DSAA14), October 30-November 1, 2014, Shanghai.  The title of the talk was: Monte Carlo Methods for Big Data and Big Models.
  • 01.09.2014 – PhD candidate Aminath Shausan on successfully completed her Thesis Review (RHD Milestone 3).
  • 19.09.2014 – Julia Kuhn was awarded first prize at School Poster Day (poster titled “Exploration versus Exploitation with Partially Observable Gaussian Autoregressive Arms”).  Congratulations also to our other presenters, Azam Asanjarani, Rohan Shah and Winnie (Wangyue) Xie, who also produced fine posters.
  • 22.08.2014 – Robert Cope was awarded his PhD. Presently he holds as position as Research Associate in Applied Mathematics at the University of Adelaide.
  • 30.05.2014 – Andrew Smith submitted his PhD thesis titled “Spatially structured metapopulation models within static and dynamic environments”. Presently he holds a position as Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at the University of Adelaide.
  • 07-11.07.2014 – Phil Pollett organized a special session titled “Probability in Biology” at the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) Annual Meeting, Sydney, 7-11 July 2014.
